Viren J. Shah is Bengal governor
New Delhi: Viren J. Shah will be the new governor of West Bengal. Mr Shah, industrialist and chairman of Mukand, has been closely associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party. The indication of his appointment was given by Jyoti Basu, chief minister of West Bengal, after a meeting with the prime minister.

5 IT professionals set up networking venture
Bangalore: Five senior information technology professionals have come together to set up a new venture, Bangalore Labs, to provide leading edge technology-based networking services to global companies. The team is led by V. Natarajan, formerly director (Saarc region), of Lucent Technologies. The other members of the group are T.G. Ramesh, formerly country manager-Saarc, Nortel Networks, Shriram Ramdas, formerly business development manager, FedEx, Joy Nandi, ex-business manager, internet/telecom division, Saarc region, Nortel Networks and Umesh Malhotra, ex-business manager, Infosys Technologies.
Barings India and other investment firms are likely to invest in the start-up.
