Hindustan Times has a facelift

New Delhi: From May 1, 2005, the capital's leading daily, the Hindustan Times and its six sister editions will showcase a facelift. The new look, accompanied by a new masthead will also be accompanied by "added content, a new selection of supplements, better pictorial clarity and printing quality".

Unveiling the new look at a pre-launch funtion, attended by the leading members of the advertising and media fraternity Rajiv Verma, CEO, Hindustan Times said, "HT is for the Global Indian reader and as a publication we are focused on the needs of our readers and advertisers. Identifying and offering innovative ways of providing news of interest to readers was a big focus behind introducing the new look of the publication."

Anand Bharadwaj the daily's, vice president, marketing, said, "The science and art of reporting news has to evolve with the changing times. Competing medium of electronic and online media are vying to grab the attention of the news seeking customer. The new look HT will provide the reader with news and entertainment in contemporary outlook and style."

"A new masthead", says a press release, "will crown the classy look and feel of the contemporary Hindustan Times and its supplements. Hindustan Times brings you a super weekend package with a special supplement on Fridays, Plan your weekends with 'HT We' devoted to food, weekend getaways, TV listings and stuff one can do to enjoy the end of week. Saturdays will also offer more sports news to spectators and gaming enthusiasts alike, which will be 50 per cent more than offered on other days."

Sunday Hindustan Times, too, will have a revamped masthead and promises to be an "infotainment experience with a contemporary design and added features," says the release and adds, "Its Sunday magazine Brunch and Edge, a special four-page feature pull-out focused on reflections, books, arts, culture and the Big Story will take readers on a journey to discover the finer things in life."

HT Commercial, another newly introduced supplement with a special section on tenders and classifieds, will focus on providing a convenient platform of interaction between the advertiser and the reader.

Its online version will have navigation bars to help readers conveniently browse news in HT, HT Horizons, HT Power Jobs, HT Estates and other supplements. Whether you are a cosmopolitan traveler, a globetrotting corporate, a swanky teenager, a page 3 socialite or a housewife, your statement is incomplete without the new look HT.
