TIBCO Software Inc. (NASDAQ: TIBX), a leading enabler of real-time business
and the world's largest independent business integration software company,
has announced its acquisition of ObjectStar, a privately held native mainframe
integration solutions provider enabling enterprises to obtain real-time, global
access to customer data and associated business processes. Announcing
this, Jerry Vincent, vice president of technology, receivable management services,
announced, "With the acquisition of ObjectStar, TIBCO will be able to
provide a leading, cost-effective solution for integrating applications on
the mainframe. Companies will be able to fully extend business automation
across the enterprise for all data, regardless of its source."
"ObjectStar has made it possible for us to cost effectively integrate
new applications with our legacy mainframe databases and processes,"
he also said. The
acquisition of ObjectStar by TIBCO will: - Enable
TIBCO to compete more effectively with IBM in the native mainframe integration
market.
- Provide
customers with a wider selection of mainframe connectivity options. The addition
of native integration capabilities for CA-IDMS, ADABAS, and Model 204 databases
will enrich TIBCO product offerings in the Financial Services and Government
vertical markets.
- Broaden
and enhance TIBCO's mainframe integration solutions with ObjectStar's native
mainframe integration products.
