"We understand the dimensions of living abroad and maintaining the close relationship with the family as well. Therefore, we have developed special services for NRIs to buy life insurance from ING Vysya Life," Yvo Metzelaar, MD and CEO, said.

Elaborating on the services to cover the Indian population living outside India, he said: "The policy can be bought simply by buying the policy in INR currency. The policyholder, however, needs to go through a medical examination, which can be done from the place he is located at. Also, the policyholder needs to nominate a person residing in India."

Talking about the company, Metzelaar added: "The South region is a prime market for ING Vysya Life. We are focusing at being No 1 in South India. Our aim is to offer our customers in Kerala a strong value proposition and help them plan with life insurance as an excellent means of providing financial protection to them while securing their long-term savings."
