Rolls Royce sets up 100 per cent subsidiary in India

Rolls Royce plc., the energy and aerospace group, has set up a wholly owned subsidiary in India. The subsidiary, Rolls Royce Energy Systems India Pvt Limited, is expected to help the group improve its focus on India''s expanding power generation and oil and gas markets.

The new company will stock to its core businesses, including design, development, commissioning and servicing of systems utilising Rolls Royce diesel engines and industrial gas turbines.

Rod Williams, managing director of the new company, says, "Until now we have been meeting the needs of our customer in India through a liaison office. However, with expanding markets and rising demand in the core sectors, we have decided to expand our operations by establishing a local presence."

Rolls Royce''s strategy is to offer a complete range of services, products and after-market support for customers. In line with this policy, the Indian arm will provide high value, specialised technical services to customers in India.
